Keystone species are a species of animal or plant that plays a vital role inn the survival of an ecosystem. If somehow the ecosystem was damaged or the species was removed than the whole ecosystem would fail. Many keystone species are very small animals such as salmon or beavers. For example, if the Atlantic Ocean was too polluted then salmon couldn’t make their journey across the Atlantic. This means that bears wouldn’t have any food so they would go extinct and the deer population would thrive and eat all the plants. The deer would eventually drive themselves out of their own ecosystem.

In conclusion, I believe that we should protect the ocean because even the smallest change for the worse could make a big difference and eventually make the effects of climate change a lot worse. So remember you can make a different no matter how small you are You could be the next generation to really make a difference to the future of our planet!
